Do they deserve forgiveness? The world says no. God says do it anyway. God gave His only Son to die so that your sins would be forgiven. There's a catch, though: Matthew 6:14 points out that you must forgive in order to be forgiven.

I also thought about José's reply. It was obvious to me by the way José responded, that he had expected me to help him. José saw me as a part of the neighborhood, which meant that this problem was also my responsibility. I began to think about all the arenas of life where I should be taking more ownership.
