Don't carry the baggage from 2017 with you into the New Year. Leave it in the past, where it belongs.
Think about the spiritual atmosphere at church when hundreds of people are gathered together, singing His praises for one hour. Now, multiply that praise around the world for over one month! I propose that this shifts the spiritual atmosphere at Christmas.
As you're out and about Christmas shopping, picking up baking supplies, or traveling to see family, it is a good idea to keep healthy snacks on hand. This will help keep you eating clean, meeting your nutritional goals, and avoiding the temptation of fast-food.
Rest assured, friend: There is a purpose in everything you're going through. God loves you, right there in the middle of your pain.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." -Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!" -Psalm 100:4 ESV
"Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it." -Hebrews 13:1-2 NIV
