Bless and Refresh!

“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed;
    those who help others are helped.” Proverbs 11:25 MSG

Well ladies and gentleman, here we are. Day Eleven. Half way through 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Have you noticed more of an outward focus? A burden in your heart for others? Well, let’s make today a launching point for spicing up others’ lives.

When you crawl out of bed and greet your spouse, roommate, family, or even your pet… do you add sunshine and sparkle to kick off their day? Do you help start things right by adding joy to their morning?

As we head out into the world, let’s “spice things up,” as Joyce Meyers says. A dash of smile for the store clerk, a sprinkle of “good morning” for the receptionist, and a pinch of “thank you” to the construction worker.

Maybe you can use your “love language” to bless others! Here is the assessment to help you discover how you best express love. This may help direct your steps of blessings for others. Perhaps you can offer “words of affirmation” to a struggling co-worker. “Acts of service” can be done for neighbors or parents. Maybe you love to give “gifts”- take a small item to a friend or an employee who stands out to you at the supermarket or coffee shop. If you are financially able, you can go as far as buying someone groceries or surprising a stranger by anonymously paying for their dinner at a restaurant. If your gifting is “quality time,” share that with a lonely or homeless person in your path. If you feel led, you could even pray for them. “Physical touch” can mean a hug for someone at church who needs some love:)

Whatever your gift is, blessing others doesn’t have to cost you a dime… just perhaps a moment of your time. You would be surprised how far a hug, a smile, a compliment, a prayer, or a kind word can go to brighten someone’s day! (You may even find yourself feeling blessed and refreshed in the process.) If you don’t know where to start, pray and ask God to highlight someone to you today that could use a blessing… Then get out there and bless some people! Spice things up and spread the joy!

Thank you for joining us for Day 11 ‘in the life’ of our fast here at RISENfitness. We are learning how to bless others right beside you:)

Here’s to your Health and 21 Day Fast!

  1. You are completely correct when you say “You may even find yourself feeling blessed and refreshed in the process.” We honor Jesus, who came to serve, by serving others! “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” – Mark Twain
